The neighborhood is getting a vibrant new makeover with “Utopia,” a special installation by designer Lara Bohinc, in collaboration with Design Miami/ Curatorial Lab, a winner of this year’s Annual Design Commission. Described as “irregular” and “bulbous,” pieces include outdoor seating, tables and oversized light sculptures, as well as a giant centerpiece egg-form and birdhouses dispersed throughout the trees. As a native of Miami, I couldn’t be more excited for next week’s 2021 Miami Art Week, where our city shines as art lovers and party-goers once again descend on our Magic City to see all of the amazing art fairs and installations scattered from downtown to the beaches. Aligning well with the art are the countless luxury fashion labels who will be showcasing artists within their stores and through their brand activations.
